Major stock markets in Europe opened higher on Friday as Germany posted a monthly rise in its trade balance and industrial production. Meanwhile, Credit Agricole SA, Siemens AG, Adidas AG, and BMW AG all saw annual growth in their first-quarter income. Traders are still waiting for the United Kingdom’s newest update on its construction sector.
The DAX opened 0.99% or 150 points higher as Infineon Technologies AG went up by 2.22%. The FTSE 100 advanced by 0.52%, with Melrose Industries PLC expanding by 2.24%. The CAC 40 gained 0.47% as STMicroelectronics NV increased by 1.40%. The euro lost 0.07% against the dollar to sell for $1.20568 at 8:57 am CET. At the same time, the pound sterling rose by 0.12% against the greenback, changing hands for $1.39058.
